CAIRO – December 4, 2025: Polling stations in most voting centers closed at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, marking the end of the second day of runoff voting for the first phase of the House of Representatives elections. The runoff was held for individual seats across 20 constituencies.
Voting continued at several stations where voters were already present before the official closing time. Election centers hosting these stations were secured to ensure that all present voters were able to cast their ballots.
Counselors from the State Lawsuits Authority and the Administrative Prosecution, serving as heads of the closed stations, recorded the number of ballots cast and the number of unused voting cards.
The elections covered individual seats in 19 constituencies whose initial results in the first round of the first phase had been annulled, in addition to the runoff in the second constituency of Itsa, Fayoum governorate.
A total of 1,775 polling stations operated across the 20 constituencies in seven governorates.
This rerun followed the National Elections Authority’s (NEA) November 18 decision to annul elections in these constituencies after identifying violations that compromised the integrity and legitimacy of the vote.
The NEA reported significant voter turnout at many polling stations across the governorates.
