CAIRO – 20 November 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung have underscored their support to a two-state solution for the Palestinian cause as they held talks in Cairo on Thursday.
El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the related UN Security Council resolution, reaffirming Egypt’s firm position that a two-state solution is the only path to lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Lee commended Egypt’s pivotal role in promoting peace and stability in the region, particularly El-Sisi’s efforts that led to the cessation of hostilities in Gaza and the hosting of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.
He affirmed South Korea’s support for a two-state solution and Egypt’s related initiatives.
Lee also outlined his country’s stance on developments in the Korean Peninsula and East Asia, which El-Sisi praised.
The Egyptian leader underscored South Korea’s efforts to maintain balanced and cooperative relations with various regional and international actors.
The two leaders exchanged views on situations in several countries in the region, stressing the importance of preserving national unity and sovereignty and reaching comprehensive political solutions to conflicts while safeguarding the rights and resources of their populations.
