CAIRO – 13 November 2025: The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) launched on Thursday its 72nd   humanitarian convoy, “Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza,” comprising a number of trucks loaded with urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

This initiative comes as part of the ERC’s ongoing efforts as the national coordination mechanism for delivering aid to Gaza. The convoy carried 235,000 food baskets, more than two tons of flour, more than 1,900 tons of essential medical and relief materials, and about 1,000 tons of petroleum products.

The convoy reflects Egypt’s continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and providing sustained food, medical, and relief assistance to the residents of Gaza.

Since the onset of the crisis, the Egyptian Red Crescent has played a pivotal role as the main coordinating body for aid delivery to Gaza. Despite the challenges, the Rafah border crossing on the Egyptian side has remained partially open, enabling the continuous flow of humanitarian assistance.

The organization has maintained full logistical readiness across all its centers, ensuring the steady delivery of aid. To date, more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid have been sent, made possible by the dedication of over 35,000 Egyptian Red Crescent volunteers.

The Egyptian cabinet issued a statement showing Egypt's ongoing efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza in coordination with 59 countries over a period of more than 760 days.

The coopertaion with other countries resulted in the arrival of approximately 943 humanitarian aid flights and 617 maritime aid shipments.

More than 665,000 tons of aid were delivered to the besieged strip, including relief, medical, and food supplies. Additionally, approximately 91,000 tons of petroleum products were delivered, and 214 ambulances were provided to health organizations. The entry of four field hospitals into the Gaza Strip was also coordinated.

The toll of the Israeli aggression has risen to 69,187 martyrs and 170,703 injuries since October 7, 2023, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health in a statement on Thursday.
