CAIRO – 12 November 2025: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty highlighted the vital role of the Egyptian and Turkish business communities in raising bilateral trade to $15 billion within the next five years, aligning with the goal set by the two nations’ presidents.
Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with Turkish businessmen and investors on Wednesday at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) headquarters in Ankara.
The foreign minister noted that economic relations between the two countries are currently witnessing unprecedented momentum, in light of the strategic direction adopted by the Egyptian and Turkish leaderships to strengthen cooperation.
He expressed Egypt’s anticipation of strong participation by the Turkish business community in the Egyptian-Turkish Economic Forum, scheduled to be held in 2026.
Abdelatty noted that the forum will serve as an important platform for expanding investment partnerships and activating joint projects.
Moreover, the foreign minister reviewed promising investment opportunities in the Egyptian market, particularly in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which serves as a strategic hub for global trade.
He affirmed Egypt’s readiness to organize field visits for Turkish business leaders to explore the investment potential and incentives offered in this regard.
The meeting also discussed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector by linking Egyptian and Turkish resorts, highlighting the notable increase in tourist flows between the two countries over the past year. This strengthens people-to-people ties and support both the tourism and investment sectors.
