CAIRO – 12 November 2025: A Turkish military cargo crashed in Georgia on Tuesday after taking off from Azerbaijan, killing all 20 military personnel onboard, the Turkish government announced. Egypt mourned the victims.

“Our heroic comrades-in-arms were martyred on November 11, 2025, when our C-130 military cargo plane, which had taken off from Azerbaijan en route to our country, crashed near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border,” Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler said on a post on X.

He posted photographs of 20 military personnel who were killed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

In a foreign ministry statement, Egypt expressed its deepest condolences to Türkiye over the victims of the crash.

The ministry conveyed Egypt’s heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, reaffirming the country’s full solidarity with the Turkish government and people in light of this tragic loss.
