Egyptian, Qatari FMs discuss efforts to deploy International Stabilization Force in Gaza

CAIRO - 9 November 2025: Within the coordinaion framework between Egypt and Qatar on regional developments and bilateral relations, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation on November 9, 2025, with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

 

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the discussion focused on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. Cairo and Doha reaffirmed their commitment to coordination and consultation to consolidate the ceasefire and build on the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit.

 

The two ministers also reviewed the progress in the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan. They emphasized the necessity of maintaining the territorial unity of the Palestinian lands by linking the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in a way that ensures that Palestinians manage their own affairs, and safeguards Palestinian national unity.

 

The call also addressed the  ongoing discussions in New York regarding the deployment of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza. Both ministers underscored the importance of clearly defining the Force’s mandate and powers to ensure that it contributes effectively to the early recovery and reconstruction efforts. They further discussed developments in the West Bank, reiterating their categorical rejection of all settlement violations that undermine peace and escalate tensions.

 

Regarding the situation in Sudan, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast support for the unity and stability of Sudan and its national institutions. He strongly condemned the recent atrocities in El-Fasher, and stressed the urgent need to establish a humanitarian corridor guaranteeing the unimpeded delivery of aid. He also highlighted the importance of joint regional and international efforts to secure a comprehensive ceasefire and create the conditions necessary for launching an inclusive political process that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for security, stability, and development.

 

The conversation concluded with both sides stressing the deep fraternal ties between Egypt and Qatar and their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various fields, including ininvestment, trade, and economic relations. The ministers also discussed the new Qatari investment package in Egypt and the promising opportunities it offers to enhance Qatari investments in priority sectors.
