CAIRO – 6 November 2025: Egypt has set up 139 overseas polling stations across 117 countries to accommodate voters in the upcoming 2025 House of Representatives elections, scheduled to begin Friday, November 7.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Thursday that all necessary facilities have been provided at the polling stations to ensure a smooth voting process, maximize participation among Egyptians living abroad, and allow citizens to exercise their right to vote.

A 24-hour operations room has also been established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working in coordination with the National Election Authority to monitor the process.

To ensure effective participation of Egyptians abroad, Egyptian embassies and consulates worldwide have been making final preparations to welcome voters.

The first phase of overseas voting will take place on November 7–8, while the second phase is scheduled for November 21–22.

Are You Casting Your Ballot?

The first phase of voting for Egyptians living abroad in the 2025 House of Representatives elections will run on Friday and Saturday across Egyptian embassies and consulates worldwide.

For voters inside Egypt, the first phase of elections will take place on Monday and Tuesday 10-11 November.

The first phase includes 14 Egyptian governorates: Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, New Valley, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Red Sea, Alexandria, Beheira, and Matrouh.

The election silence period for the first phase already began at noon on Thursday, marking the end of campaigning.

Balloting for Egyptians abroad will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time in each country, according to the National Election Authority.

Due to the time difference, Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, will be the first polling station to open its doors to voters on Thursday evening Cairo time, marking the official start of the election process.

The voting period may be extended if there are still voters in line at closing time.

Second Phase, Runoffs

Voting in the second phase will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 21–22 for expats and on Monday and Tuesday November 24–25 for citizens inside the country in the remaining 13 governorates.

Results for this phase are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, December 2.

If runoffs are needed, Egyptians abroad will vote on December 1–2 for the first phase and on December 15–16 for the second.

Inside Egypt, runoff voting will take place on December 3–4 for the first phase and on December 17–18 for the second.
