Egypt hosts Palestinian talks on second phase of Trump’s Gaza plan

CAIRO – 23 October 2025: Cairo is hosting discussions between Palestinian factions aimed at reaching a comprehensive consensus as part of the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza peace, Al Qahera News reported.

Egypt has also intensified contacts with the United States to ensure the Gaza ceasefire holds and to promote a just and lasting peace in the region.

Moreover, Head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS) Hassan Rashad also met with Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh and head of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service Majed Faraj. The meeting comes as part of continued Egyptian efforts to end the crisis in Gaza.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to support and continue implementing measures of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

The Palestinian vice president emphasized adherence to Arab Summit decisions regarding the Palestinian Authority and the importance of achieving Palestinian consensus.
