CAIRO – 20 October 2025: Egypt has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Taliban, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes through diplomatic channels and constructive dialogue.

According to a statement released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Monday, the Egyptian government reaffirmed its support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at settling regional conflicts by peaceful means.

Both countries agreed on Saturday to an immediate ceasefire following a week of deadly border clashes that resulted in casualties on both sides. The ceasefire was announced by Turkey and Qatar, which brokered the talks between the Government of Pakistan and the Taliban movement, which has controlled Afghanistan since 2021.
