CAIRO – 15 October 2025: The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, praised the outcomes agreed upon at the "Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit," which was held last Monday under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US President Donald Trump.
The cabinet stressed the importance of cooperation among members of the international community to ensure the full implementation of the terms of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement to end the war in Gaza. This agreement, signed on October 9, was brokered by Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey.
This came during the cabinet’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, held at its headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss a number of topics and files.
The cabinet also welcomed the agreement reached regarding the comprehensive cessation of the war in Gaza, the completion of the hostage and prisoner exchange process, the Israeli withdrawal, and the entry of humanitarian and relief aid into the Gaza Strip.
In this context, the cabinet expressed its support for all measures and steps taken by the Egyptian state, under the leadership of Sisi, in the framework of ongoing efforts to consolidate a path of peace in the Middle East. This includes ending the war in Gaza, reconstructing the Strip, and reaching a political resolution to the Palestinian issue.
The cabinet also expressed confidence in the steps Egypt intends to take to initiate consultations with the relevant parties on the methods and mechanisms for implementing the upcoming phases of President Trump’s peace plan, starting with governance and security issues, rebuilding Gaza, and culminating in the political track of the settlement process.
‘Landmark Political Event’
Madbouly affirmed that the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit is considered one of the most significant political events in recent years, as it succeeded in ending the two-year-long war in Gaza. The prime minister congratulated Sisi on the success of the summit, including its organizational aspects, which were praised worldwide and became a focal point of global public attention. The summit presented Egypt in a distinguished light as a host that brought together numerous leaders and officials to establish peace in the region.
Madbouly stated: “This summit and the terms of agreement it produced are evidence of the insightful vision of our political leadership. It also refuted all allegations and false claims made about Egypt’s position during the Gaza war crisis, despite Egypt’s pivotal role, under the patronage of the president, in leading and coordinating humanitarian efforts since the onset of the crisis, and in mediating until the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement was reached.”
The prime minister said that Egypt will continue its tireless efforts in the upcoming period, in coordination with all concerned parties, to implement mechanisms for the entry of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. He also emphasized Egypt’s ongoing cooperation with regional and international partners to support the reconstruction of the Strip and implement all provisions of the agreement.
Madbouly then spoke about some of the activities undertaken by the president in recent days, including his meetings with senior executives from major international oil companies. He noted that these meetings included reviews and updates on the companies’ operations in Egypt and their plans to expand and increase their investments.
