CAIRO - 13 October 2025: Footage of the funeral of Palestinian journalist Saleh al-Jafarawy, who was killed on Sunday in Gaza during an armed clash between Hamas and a Palestinian family, flooded social media, as widespread grief and mourning spread following the confirmation of his death.
Social media users shared that the Palestinian journalist Saleh Aljafarawi, 28, was kidnapped by members of an armed group tied to the Israeli regime, and was shot dead.
Mourners filled the streets, chanting takbirs and bidding emotional farewells to the killed reporter during his funeral.
Saleh’s brother, Ali Amer al-Jaafari, posted a deeply moving will that Saleh had written before his death, reflecting his steadfastness, faith, and unwavering belief in the path of resistance until his final moments.
A part of Saleh's will says:
“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, who says: ‘And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of God as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.’
I am Saleh. I leave this will of mine not as a farewell, but as a continuation of the path I have chosen with certainty. God knows that I have given all my effort and strength to be a support and a voice for my people.
I have lived through pain and oppression in all their forms, and I have repeatedly tasted the sorrow of losing loved ones. Despite that, I have never hesitated to convey the truth as it is—the truth that will remain a testament against those who have failed and stayed silent, and an honor to those who have supported and stood with the most honorable and generous of people, the people of Gaza.”
