CAIRO - 13 October 2025: A Palestinian woman who thought her two sons had been killed by the Israeli occupation forces was shocked to discover that they were among those released Monday as part of the war cessation deal.

She wept with joy as she awaited their release in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.

She was filmed crying as she stands among other gathered families waiting for their beloved ones to be released from Israeli prisons.

"I was told they died, only 10 days ago I knew they are alive. I cannot contain my joy that my sons are returning... its been 62 days [since she last saw them]" she said as she was crying.

Mohamed's and Khalil are released as part of a prisoner swap agreed upon between Hamas and Israel, which include a number of Palestinian prisoners who were held captives in Israeli prisons. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society has also named 1,718 Palestinians scheduled for release from Israeli jails as part of the ongoing exchange.
