CAIRO – 27 September 2025: Egypt and Rwanda signed on Saturday a mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of official passports, on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly in New York.

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and his Rwandan counterpart Olivier Nduhungirehe signed the agreement.

The signing implements outcomes of the recent Cairo summit between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Rwandan President Paul Kagame, during which both leaders agreed to deepen bilateral relations and expand areas of cooperation, reflecting the strong historic ties between the two peoples.

Following the ceremony, Abdelatty praised the growing momentum in Egypt-Rwanda relations and expressed Egypt’s keenness to further strengthen cooperation in economic, trade, and development fields.

He stressed that advancing joint efforts will serve the shared interests of both nations while contributing to development and stability across Africa.
