CAIRO - 25 September 2025: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects moderate autumn weather Thursday during the early morning and evening hours, while hot conditions will prevail during the daytime across most parts of the country.

Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the EMA’s media center, made press statements that Egypt is currently influenced by an extension of a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere. This has contributed to the growth of low- and medium-level clouds in northern regions, helping to reduce the intensity of solar radiation and bring more moderate conditions, particularly in the early morning and along coastal areas.

She added that air masses moving in from southern Europe are also contributing to a drop in temperatures. Highs in Greater Cairo are expected to range between 30 and 31 degrees Celsius, while lows will fall between 19 and 22 degrees in new cities and open areas.

According to Ghanem, winds will be active across much of the country, potentially stirring up sand and dust, especially in parts of the Red Sea region and southern Upper Egypt. Maritime traffic in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea may be disrupted, with wave heights reaching up to three meters. Light rainfall is also possible in some coastal areas and parts of Lower Egypt, though it is not expected to be significant.

She emphasized that autumn is typically marked by rapid weather fluctuations, underscoring the importance of following weather forecasts closely. Beginning in October, noticeable nighttime and early morning chills are expected. Ghanem further advised wearing light autumn clothing during these hours, particularly for children.
