President Sisi briefed on Prime Minister’s visit to New York

CAIRO - 25 September 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to be updated on the outcomes of the premier’s visit to the New York for participation in the 80th meetings of the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA 80).

The meeting was joined by the Ministers of Defense and Military Production, the Minister of Interior, and several leaders of relevant state agencies. 

Madbouly, on behalf of President El-Sisi, attended the multilateral summit grouping the leaders of the United States and eight Arab States as well as members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the United Nations headquarters on the margins of the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was held at the initiative of Donald J. Trump, president of the United States of America. It is co-hosted by President Trump and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and joined by King Abdullah II of Jordan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.

Thr participants emphasized the need to ensure a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, based on the Arab and OIC plan, and underlined the significance of security arrangements, with international assistance supporting the Palestinian leadership.

U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff said on Wednesday at the Concordia summit in New York that President Trump has presented a 21-point “peace” plan for the Middle East and Gaza. “We had a very productive session. We presented what we call the Trump 21-point plan for peace in the Middle East and Gaza. I think it addresses Israeli concerns and the concerns of all the neighbors in the region," Trump was quoted by Reuters.

"We're hopeful, and I might say, even confident that in the coming days we will be able to announce some sort of breakthrough," he added.

Politico reported- according to six people familiar with the talks, that Trump promised he will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
