Qatari PM says Doha ‘reevaluating’ everything regarding its mediation role after Israel’s aggression

CAIRO – 10 September 2025: Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in statements on Wednesday that Doha is currently discussing a response to the Israeli attack with its regional partners.

According al Qahera news Channel, the Qatari Prime Minister added that the entire Gulf region is in danger, noting that Qatar is ‘reevaluating’ everything regarding its mediation role and the future of Hamas in Doha.

He explained that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was ‘wasting’ Qatar's time in mediation, asserting that Netanyahu is leading the Middle East into chaos.

He also revealed that the Qatari security personnel injured in the Israeli attack on Doha are in critical condition.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday held talks over the phone with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shenawy said in a statement.

The President expressed Egypt’s strong condemnation and deep denunciation of Israel’s act of aggression against the State of Qatar, stressing Cairo’s categorical rejection of any violation of Qatari sovereignty.

Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Qatar in face of such a blatant breach of international law and the UN Charter, characterizing the assault as a provocative act against the sovereignty of a sisterly Arab state and an unacceptable threat to its security, safety, and territorial integrity.

He also confirmed Egypt’s full support for any measures taken by Qatar to safeguard its stability and security.

For his part, Sheikh Tamim expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s stance, praising the fraternal ties binding the two countries and their peoples.

The Qatari Emir briefed President Sisi on the latest developments following the flagrant Israeli attack.

Both leaders agreed on the urgent need for the international community to assume its responsibilities in addressing this Israeli violation, ensuring accountability for those involved, and halting any further encroachments on states’ sovereignty in order to preserve regional and international peace and security.
