CAIRO – 10 September 2025: Israeli airstrikes reportedly targeted areas in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Wednesday, according to Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV.
The strike is said to have hit locations linked to the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Defense.
Israeli army radion claimed that the strikes focused on Houthi military facilities, including command headquarters and training camps.
The attack marks an escalation in long-range hostilities between Israel and the Houthis, who have claimed responsibility for several past attempts to strike Israeli territory since the Gaza war started in 2023.
The Houthis have repeatedly stated that their attacks are acts of solidarity with the Palestinian people and a response to Israel’s "crimes of genocide and starvation."
Today’s strike comes two weeks after an Israeli airstrike on Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, killed the prime minister of the Houthis’ government and several cabinet members.
The attack also comes a day after Israeli jets struck Hamas leadership in the Qatari capital, Doha, in an unprecedented escalation amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
