CAIRO – 10 September 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, to discuss regional developments.
According to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, the two leaders exchanged views on pressing regional issues, chief among them being the blatant Israeli aggression against Qatar. Both leaders fully condemned the attack, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter. They also described it as an unacceptable assault on the sovereignty of a fellow Arab nation.
President El-Sisi and the Kuwaiti Emir affirmed their full solidarity with Qatar, especially given its crucial role alongside Egypt in mediating a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The call also covered the latest developments in Gaza, where both sides agreed on the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the entry of sufficient humanitarian aid into the Strip.
The leaders emphasized their strong condemnation of the Israeli military escalation and their absolute rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians or render the Gaza Strip uninhabitable.
They underscored the need for the international community to act urgently to halt Israeli violations, de-escalate regional tensions, and launch a serious political process. The ultimate goal is to implement the two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital—the only path to a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace.
The conversation concluded with both leaders agreeing to continue coordination and consultation on various regional and international issues, further strengthening the deep historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and Kuwait.
