CAIRO – 6 September 2025: The Israeli occupation army has begun implementing its internationally condemned plan to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza City in the north to the south of the Strip. Palestinians have reportedly been threatened with bombings and killings if they do not evacuate to what Israel calls a “humanitarian zone” in the Al-Mawasi area, which constitutes only 3 percent of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza’s Media Office stated on Saturday that Israel has bombed the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis 109 times since the war began in October 2023, despite designating it a “humanitarian area.” Palestinian journalists also reported that Khan Younis was targeted multiple times on Saturday.
As of September 6, 2025, Palestinians in Gaza continue to endure the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation against the defenseless civilian population, over 2.4 million people, marking an unprecedented crime in modern history, the Media Office said in its statement.
The war has led to the near-total destruction of 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure and initial economic losses exceeding $68 billion. The Israeli occupation now controls more than 80% of the Strip through military force and systematic forced displacement. Since the start of the genocide, a total of 73,731 people has been reported killed or missing.
