CAIRO - 24 August 2025: The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that 64 martyrs and 278 injured arrived at the strip's hospitals over the past 24 hours, bringing the casualties from the Israeli aggression to 62,686 martyrs and 157,915 wounded since October 7, 2023.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry added that the number of aid victims arriving at the strip's hospitals over the past 24 hours reached 19 martyrs and 124 wounded, bringing the total number of aid victims to 2,096 and more than 15,431 wounded.
The ministry noted that a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them.
It clarified that the death toll and injuries since March 18, 2025 to date have come to 10,842 martyrs and 45,910 injuries.
"In the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded eight new deaths due to starvation and malnutrition, including two children, bringing the total number of deaths to 289, including 115 children,” the ministry continued.
As part of the ongoing efforts to deliver relief to besieged Gaza in light of the Israeli-forced famine, a new humanitarian aid convoy departed from the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing on Sunday, heading to the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian state-owned channel Al Qahera News reported.
The dispatched convoy,the 21st Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza, was launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent, comprising 205 trucks of food and medical aid. The convoy is set to reach southern Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing.
The convoy carries more than 3,500 tons of urgent aid, including approximately 3,400 tons of food baskets and flour, as well as tons of medical supplies.
According to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report, more than 500,000 people are currently facing famine, with the crisis expected to spread across other areas of the strip in the coming weeks.
By the end of September, the IPC projects that over 640,000 people will face "catastrophic" hunger (IPC Phase 5), while more than 1.1 million will experience emergency-level food insecurity (Phase 4).
Severe conditions are also reported in northern Gaza, although lack of access has hindered full assessment.
