61 killed by Israeli fire in Gaza in 24 hrs; total death toll rises to 62,622

CAIRO - 23 August 2025: The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that 61 martyrs and 308 wounded arrived at hospitals in the Strip over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll from the Israeli aggression to 62,622 and 157,673 wounded since October 7, 2023.

 

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry added that the number of aid victims arriving at hospitals over the past 24 hours reached 16 martyrs and 111 wounded, bringing the total number of victims arriving at hospitals to 2,076 and more than 15,308 wounded.

 

It noted that a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time.

 

It clarified that the death toll and injuries since March 18, 2025 to date have been 10,778 martyrs and 45,632 injuries.

 

It continued: "In the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded eight new deaths due to starvation and malnutrition, including two children, bringing the total number of deaths to 281, including 114 children.
