CAIRO – 24 July 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended his condolences to the Russian people and President Vladimir Putin over the victims of a passenger plane crash on Thursday.
A Russian Antonov An-24 passenger plane crashed in Russia’s Far Eastern Amur region with more than 40 people onboard, including children, according to reports. Initial aerial investigation found no signs of survivors.
The plane, which was operated by Siberia-based Angara Airlines, had disappeared from radar while approaching an airport in Amur.
“I extend, in my name and on behalf of the Egyptian people, my sincerest condolences to my friend President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people for the victims of the passenger plane crash in eastern Russia today,” President Sisi said in a social media post.
“I express my heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims in this tragic incident, and I pray to God to grant them patience and solace.”
