CAIRO – 24 July 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty arrived in Mali on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, marking the fourth stop of his tour across West Africa.

The minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation of 30 businessmen and representatives from major Egyptian companies across various sectors.

During his visit to the capital, Bamako, Abdelatty met with members of the Egyptian community on the evening of July 23. He expressed his appreciation for their contributions to Malian society and their active role in strengthening Egyptian-Malian relations across multiple fields.

The minister reaffirmed the Egyptian government’s commitment to supporting its citizens abroad, emphasizing ongoing efforts to resolve challenges through coordination with diplomatic and consular missions, as well as relevant domestic authorities.

Abdelatty highlighted the ministry’s initiatives to improve consular services for Egyptians abroad, including the digitization of procedures and simplification of consular transactions. He also discussed programs aimed at providing special benefits to Egyptians overseas—such as secure money transfer mechanisms via modern applications, the facilitation of bank account openings abroad, and access to housing units and agricultural land under preferential terms.

Education was another key focus. The minister outlined initiatives offering Egyptians abroad preferential treatment at Egyptian universities and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring access to quality education for expatriates.

During the meeting, Abdelatty listened to the community’s feedback and inquiries, assuring attendees that their comments and concerns would be taken into account as part of the ministry’s commitment to serving Egyptians around the world.

In addition, Abdelatty met with members of the Mali Association of Graduates of the Arab Republic of Egypt. He underscored Egypt’s dedication to welcoming thousands of African students annually and supporting their academic and cultural development, viewing them as essential partners in shaping Africa’s future.

The minister also spoke about Egypt’s development boom, particularly in higher education, scientific research, digital transformation, and youth empowerment. He emphasized Egypt’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with African countries through scholarships and training programs.
