CAIRO – 17 July 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has sent a condolence message to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, expressing his heartfelt sympathies and sincere condolences on the passing of Nigeria’s former president Muhammadu Buhari.

In his message, President Sisi commended Buhari for “dedicating his life to serving his country, praying to Allah to bestow his mercy upon the deceased and grant patience and solace to his family and the Nigerian people.

Buhari, who ruled the West African country from 1983 to 1985 and then from 2015 to 2023, passed away in London last Sunday aged 82.

He was buried in the backyard of his home in Daura in Nigeria’s Katsina State following a military parade and a gun salute on Tuesday. Crowds gathered to bid farewell to the former leader.
