EMA warns extremely hot weather across Egypt, Cairo hits 39°C Thursday

CAIRO - 17 July 2025: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned of extremely hot weather across most parts of the country.
 
The maximum temperature in Greater Cairo Thursday in the shade will reach 39°C, with some dust particles present in parts of Greater Cairo and the north of the country.
 
Thursday, July 17, will see a continued rise in temperatures, with extremely hot and humid weather prevailing during the day across most parts of the country, hot and humid on the north coast, and hot and humid at night and in the early morning.
 
Dr. Mahmoud Shahin, Director General of Forecasting and Early Warning at the EMA, revealed that tomorrow, humidity levels are expected to rise, making the weather hotter than expected in the shade by 2-4°C. Mist is expected from 4-8 AM across the north of the country, including Greater Cairo, and may be dense at times on some roads leading to and from the northwestern coast.
