CAIRO – 26 June 2025: A high-level delegation from the Arab Parliament, led by Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed AlYammahi, will visit the Rafah border crossing on Friday to assess the dire humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. The visit comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations, a severe blockade, and the Israeli genocial war against the Palestinian people.
This field mission is part of the Arab Parliament’s continued efforts to support the Palestinian cause and to witness firsthand the scale of the humanitarian disaster resulting from the Israeli blockade and the obstruction of humanitarian, medical, and food aid. The delegation also aims to document violations committed by the Israelis against civilians in Gaza.
During the visit, the delegation will hold meetings with relevant authorities and review Egypt’s efforts to facilitate the delivery of aid, along with the logistical and political challenges involved. They will also tour hospitals to meet with those injured in the conflict and evaluate their medical and humanitarian needs.
Following the visit, the delegation will submit a comprehensive report to the Arab Parliament. The report will include observations, recommendations, and proposed actions to be taken at both the Arab and international levels to intensify political and human rights advocacy aimed at lifting the blockade and halting the violence.
The Arab Parliament emphasized that this visit underscores its steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause, its determination to spotlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and its ongoing work to rally international support to end the conflict and ease the suffering of the Palestinian people.
