CAIRO –11 June 2025: Badr Abdel-Atti, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, met today, Wednesday, with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi and Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum.
Minister Abdel-Atti emphasized Egypt's top priority of achieving de-escalation and preventing further escalation in the region. He stressed that there is no room for military solutions to regional crises and expressed Egypt's support for the negotiation track between the United States and Iran concerning the Iranian nuclear program.
This stance was previously conveyed during his meeting with his Iranian counterpart and the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Cairo on June 2nd.
Minister Abdel-Atti listened to the two ministers' assessments of the American-Iranian negotiations. He commended the commitment of both the American and Iranian sides to continuing dialogue through diplomatic channels.
He also praised Omani mediation efforts in this context, noting Egypt's support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at reaching consensual solutions that help bridge viewpoints and seek to de-escalate tensions in the region and bolster regional security and stability.
