CAIRO – 22 May 2025: A total of 16,503 children have been killed in Gaza by Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the besieged strip on Thursday.
The age groups are distributed as follows:
Infants (under one year): 916 martyrs.
Children (1–5 years): 4,365 martyrs.
Children (6–12 years): 6,101 martyrs.
Youth (13–17 years): 5,124 martyrs.
According to daily news briefing on the number of Palestinian casualties as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 53,762 martyrs and 122,197 injured since October 7, 2023.
Over the past 24 hours, 107 martyrs (including three recovered) and 247 injuries were received in Gaza Strip hospitals. The daily report added that a number of victims still remain under the rubble and on the roads, unable to be reached by ambulances and civil defense teams.
On March 18, Israel shattered a two-month ceasefire in Gaza brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, resuming one of the century’s bloodiest conflicts. Since the resumption of the attacks, the death toll and injuries has reached 3,613 martyrs, while the number of injured Palestinians reached 10,156.
