CAIRO - 21 May 2025: As part of its preparations for the 2025 Hajj season, the Egyptian Hajj Mission announced the implementation of a comprehensive plan aimed at providing the highest levels of comfort and care for pilgrims.
 
The head of the Hajj mission Ashraf Abdel Mo'ty confirmed that the there are more than 78,000 pilgrims in the Hajj mission this year, including approximately 25,000 pilgrims from the lottery.
 
The Assistant Minister of Interior for Administrative Affairs and head of the Egyptian Hajj Mission Ashraf Abdel Mo'ty added that preparations for this season began several months ago, with work being done to prepare all logistical, medical, and administrative services to ensure the smooth and easy performance of the rituals.
 
He continued: The mission was keen to provide distinguished accommodations for the pilgrims selected by lottery, contracting with hotels located near the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina.
 
These hotels are equipped with the latest amenities and provide convenient transportation services to ensure ease of movement between the accommodations and the holy sites.
 
In Mina and Arafat, the mission has set up modern, air-conditioned camps equipped with the latest amenities. Heat-resistant German tents have been contracted, and "sofa beds" have been provided to ensure pilgrims' comfort. The camps have also been equipped with high-powered air conditioning units to cope with the high temperatures, in addition to providing additional fans and cooling devices to ensure the comfort of pilgrims.
 
The Assistant Minister of Interior added: To facilitate the movement of pilgrims between Makkah and the holy sites, the mission has contracted with specialized transportation companies to provide air-conditioned buses equipped with the latest technology, including GPS systems to ensure the safety of pilgrims and accurately determine transportation routes. Comfortable seats provide maximum comfort during the journey.
 
He continued: As part of its commitment to the health and safety of pilgrims, the mission has provided medical clinics equipped with the latest medical equipment. Specialized medical teams have been assigned to monitor the health of pilgrims, and ambulances are equipped to transport sick cases to hospitals if necessary.
 
The mission's CEO continued: To ensure full support for all pilgrims, the mission has allocated specialized teams to assist humanitarian cases, including the elderly and people with special needs. Wheelchairs and designated spaces have been provided for them on buses and in camps, with additional services provided to meet their special needs.
 
To ensure efficient operation, two operations rooms have been established in Makkah and Madinah, operating around the clock to monitor the conditions of pilgrims and provide them with the necessary support. These rooms coordinate the efforts of the various working teams to ensure the provision of integrated and expedited services.
 
The head of the mission explained: "To facilitate the transportation of pilgrims, the air bridge between Egypt and the Holy Land continues, with regular flights being organized to transport pilgrims from various Egyptian governorates to airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
 
The Assistant Minister of Interior for Administrative Affairs and head of the Egyptian Hajj Mission offered several pieces of advice to pilgrims, including the need to adhere to the instructions issued by the mission, avoid direct exposure to sunlight, ensure adequate water and fluid intake, and avoid physical exertion. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified times for travel between the holy sites and avoiding crowding and overcrowding.
 
The Egyptian Hajj Mission continues its tireless efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of Egyptian pilgrims by providing comprehensive services, including transportation, accommodation, medical care, and humanitarian support. The mission emphasizes that these efforts are part of the Egyptian state's commitment to providing the best services to its citizens and creating a suitable environment for them to perform the Hajj rituals with ease and convenience.
