CAIRO - 17 May 2025: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued important warning to citizens regarding the intense heat wave hitting the country, which will peak today, Saturday, across the country.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority urged citizens to avoid direct exposure to the sun during the afternoon, to drink plenty of fluids, and to wear a head covering.
Saturday, May 17, 2025, will mark the peak of the intense heat wave across most parts of the country, with extremely hot weather during the day and moderate weather at night across most parts of the country.
Active winds are expected across most parts of the country today, potentially causing sand and dust storms in open areas.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has announced the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for Saturday as follows:
