EMA warns: Heat wave peaks Sunday; Cairo sees highs of 40 degrees

CAIRO - 10 May 2025: The weather forecast map issued by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority reveals that the country will experience an intense heat wave across most parts of the country over the next 48 hours.

 

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned that the heat wave hitting the country will reach its peak tomorrow, Sunday, with a high of 40°C in Cairo.

 

Saturday, May 10, 2025, will witness a further rise in temperatures and a continued intense heat wave across most parts of the country. Extremely hot weather will prevail during the day across most parts of the country, with moderate weather at night across most parts.

 

Mist is expected today in the morning on highways and roads near bodies of water leading to and from Greater Cairo, the Delta, the North Coast, the Canal cities, Central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

 

 

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority explained the expected highs of lows in temperatures for Saturday in governroates as follows:
