Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty meets with Tunisian President Kais Saied in Tunisia, 18 April 2025 - Tunisian Presidency
CAIRO – 18 April 2025: Tunisian President Kais Saied reaffirmed his country’s rejection of the displacement of Palestinian people from their territories as he met with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty in Tunisia on Friday.
Saied expressed Tunisia’s condemnation of the Israeli crimes committed against the Palestinian people in full view of the world, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.
He emphasized standing by them in their struggle to reclaim their full rights and establish their independent state on all of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Tunisian president’s remarks express a unified Arab position rejecting Israeli-US plans to displace Palestinians outside their lands, including to Egypt and Jordan, during the ongoing war in Gaza.
Egypt and Jordan have roundly rejected these plans.
Last month, Arab leaders adopted an Egyptian initiative for the early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which ensures that Palestinians remain on their land while their homes are being rebuilt.
The Arab initiative enjoys support from the Islamic countries and other international actors, including the European Union, Russia, China and Japan.
