CAIRO – 6 April 2025: French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Egypt on Sunday evening, in a visit set to last until Tuesday, during which he is scheduled to visit North Sinai, close to Gaza, and call for a ceasefire.
Macron shared a video on his official X account showing Egyptian Rafale jets escorting his presidential aircraft, stating, “We have arrived in Egypt accompanied by Egyptian Rafale jets. We are proud of this, as it symbolizes strong strategic cooperation between us.”

Upon his arrival in Cairo, Macron visited the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization.
GEM, home to over 100,000 artifacts, including the priceless complete collection of Tutankhamun, will be inaugurated on 3 July with many leaders and officials from around the world in attendance.
Macron, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan are set to hold a summit to discuss developments in Gaza during the visit.
Macron's visit will include discussions on various regional issues in the Middle East and is expected to see both countries elevating Egyptian-French relations to the level of strategic partnership.
