CAIRO - 23 March 2025: The Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities has approved the Alexandria University Council's decision to establish branches of the university in the capitals of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Greece. The necessary legal procedures are being undertaken.

The decision was announced in a statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Sunday, March 23, following the Supreme Council of Universities' regular meeting, chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, minister of higher education and scientific research.

The minister praised the inclusion of 19 Egyptian universities in the 2025 QS World University Rankings and emphasized the continued support for researchers to increase scientific publications in prestigious international journals. This would contribute to improving the global ranking of Egyptian universities.

Alexandria University has been included in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, alongside other Egyptian universities, including Cairo University, the American University in Cairo (AUC), Ain Shams University, Mansoura University, and Al Azhar University.
