President El-Sisi Pays Tribute to Egypt’s Martyrs on Martyrs’ Day

CAIRO – 9 March 2025: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised Egyptian martyrs of wars, who sacrificed themselves for the sake of their homeland.

“On Martyrs' Day, we renew our pledge and loyalty to the memory of our heroes, who sacrificed their pure souls to ensure that Egypt remains steadfast, secure, and stable. These men upheld their oath by sacrificing all that was precious, offering their lives in the service of their country and therefore becoming eternal in the nation's memory,” President Sisi said.

“On this day, we reaffirm our dedication to the noble cause for which they sacrificed. We continue the path of defending the nation and elevating its status, regardless of the challenges we face. We also renew our commitment to providing all the necessary support and care to the families of our martyrs, proud of their heroic contributions to Egypt. Those heroes, whose names will be etched in the most dignified pages of history across generations,” he added.

“May Allah have mercy on our martyrs and protect Egypt from the evils of its enemies,” President Sisi continued.

Martyr and Veteran Day observed annually on March 9, which marks the killing of former Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim Riad in 1969.
