Cairo Metro to Extend Operating Hours During Ramadan

CAIRO – 1 March 2025: The Greater Cairo Metro’s schedule will be adjusted during Ramadan, with operating hours extended by one additional hour daily, starting Saturday, for the holy month.

 

Line 1 (Helwan-El Marg): The first train will depart from Helwan at 5:15 a.m., and the last train will leave Helwan station at 12:15 a.m., with the final departure from New Marg station at 12:30 a.m.

 

Line 2 (Shubra-El Monib): The first train will depart from Shubra El-Kheima at 5:15 a.m., and the last train will leave both Shubra and El-Monib stations at 12:40 a.m.

 

Line 3: Operating hours for this line will be extended by one hour, with the station closing at 2:00 a.m. instead of 1:00 a.m. The last train from Adly Mansour on Line 3 towards Cairo University will depart at 12:06 a.m., while the last train from Adly Mansour towards Rod El Farag will depart at 12:02 a.m. The last train from Rod El Farag towards Adly Mansour will depart at 12:26 a.m., and the last train from Cairo University towards Adly Mansour will depart at 12:23 a.m.

 

Transfers Between Lines:

  • The last train between Line 1 and Line 2 will meet at 1:00 a.m. at Sadat station.
  • The last train between Line 1 and Line 3 will meet at 12:30 a.m. at Gamal Abdel-Nassir station.
  • The last train between Line 2 and Line 3 will meet at Attaba at 12:30 a.m.
  • The last train leaving Cairo University on Line 3 will be at 12:20 a.m.
