CAIRO – 28 February 2025: Egyptian meteorologists are predicting a lovely warm spell across the country in the lead-up to Ramadan, which starts on Saturday.

According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), pleasant weather will grace most areas until Tuesday. However, starting Wednesday, temperatures are expected to dip by 2-4 degrees Celsius, making for a chilly return.

Until then, enjoy the nice weather in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the North Coast, and northern Upper Egypt. Southern Upper Egypt and South Sinai, home to the stunning Sharm El Sheikh, will be even warmer.

There’s a chance of light rain on Saturday along the North Coast, probably including areas like Alexandria and Matrouh, as well as in the northern Nile Delta. Some sprinkles may also hit the northern parts of the country starting Wednesday.

Looking ahead, Cairo and the Nile Delta will see highs around 22°C and lows of 13°C until Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the North Coast will enjoy highs around 21°C and lows of 11-13°C in the first half of the week.

In Upper Egypt, temperatures will range from 22-26°C, with northern areas experiencing lows of 10-12°C, while the south can look forward to highs between 26-30°C and lows of 13-14°C.

Weather during Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, can really have an impact. Hot, summery days can leave you feeling parched, while cooler temperatures might make hunger strike a bit too quickly. So, this moderate weather is just perfect for the occasion.

This year, the first day of Ramadan is expected to fall on March 1 in Egypt, ushering in the warm vibes of Ramadan lanterns and the joyful spirit of people celebrating the blessings of the month.

Dar Al-Ifta, the central authority responsible for issuing religious fatwas, will sight the crescent moon for the holy month after sunset today.
