CAIRO – 26 February 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration received Wednesday Leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim in Cairo to confer over regional affairs.

Regarding Gaza, Minister Abdelatty gave an overview of the plan Egypt is setting to reconstruct the enclave without displacing Palestinians, stressing the necessity of working towards a permanent political solution.
As for Syria, the minister underscored Egypt's stance advocating for preserving the unity and territorial integrity of the country, noting the importance of launching an inclusive political solution to restore stability, and combat terrorism and extremism, in order to protect the stability of the entire region.
With regard to Lebanon, Minister Abdelatty valued the election of a president for Lebanon and forming a new government, noting that the agreement on ending hostilities southern the country and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces must be implemented.
On the bilateral level, the minister expressed Egypt's support to the security and stability of Iraq, and keenness on continuing joint cooperation programmes as well as trilateral ones with Jordan.
