Egypt’s PM Mostafa Madbouly meets with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, 23 February 2025 – Cabinet of Egypt
CAIRO – 23 February 2025: Kuwait looks forward to Egypt presenting its plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, aiming to fulfill the interests and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in rebuilding the enclave while ensuring they remain on their lands, Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stated.
The crown prince made these remarks while welcoming Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Sunday, discussing enhancement of bilateral cooperation as well as various topics of mutual concern.
Madbouly affirmed Egypt's full support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to an independent state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He emphasized the necessity of rebuilding the Gaza Strip while ensuring that the Palestinian people remain on their land.
Madbouly also highlighted the importance of a unified Arab position, which Egypt is striving to achieve through the efforts of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He expressed his aspiration for security and stability for all Arab countries and a resolution to the crises currently facing the region.
For his part, the Kuwaiti crown prince reiterated the importance of forming a unified vision for the reconstruction of Gaza during the upcoming Arab leaders’ summit, scheduled for March 4 in Cairo.
Sheikh Sabah stressed the need for solidarity to confront the current challenges in the region.

EGYPT’S PLAN
Egypt is leading efforts to develop a multi-phase reconstruction plan for Gaza after more than 15 months of Israeli war devastated the enclave and left most of its population homeless.
Last week, Madbouly stated that a three-year timeline is a reasonable estimate for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gaza, aiming to restore the enclave to a state better than it was before the war.
Madbouly asserted that the capabilities of Egyptian, Arab, and international companies operating in the Middle East all possess the expertise necessary to carry out the reconstruction of Gaza within the proposed three-year period.
Details of the reconstruction plan have not yet been revealed, but this Egyptian/Arab proposal seeks to replace a widely condemned initiative by US President Donald Trump, which aimed to "take over" Gaza and permanently displace its two million Palestinian residents to Egypt and Jordan.
The UN estimates that rebuilding Gaza and the occupied West Bank will require more than $53 billion over the next ten years, including $20 billion over the coming three years alone.
