CAIRO – 29 January 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty received Wednesday Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Hussein El Sheikh and Advisor to the Palestinian President for Diplomatic Affairs Magdy El Khaldy.
The minister listened to the two Palestinian officials' assessment of the circumstances in Gaza Strip and the West Bank. In that regard, he underscored Egypt's support to the Palestinian people's right in rejecting relocation and displacement.
Abdelatty equally stressed the importance of working towards the two-state solution by establishing a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1067 having as capital Eastern Jerusalem.
The foreign minister noted that Egypt had been making contacts to ensure the completion of the deal implementation in its three stages. In that context, he underlined the salience of the unity of Gaza Strip and the West Bank, expressing Egypt's backing to the reform plans of the Palestinian government as well as to the empowerment of the PLO politically and economically.
