CAIRO – 25 July 2017: Assizes court at police academy, Cairo, passed a life sentence to Sherif al-Sheshtawy Abu Raya known as Abu Sahib on Tuesday for joining Islamic State terrorist group in Syria.

The accused was sentenced to life by the 'circle five terrorism' presided by Counselor Mohammed Naji Shehata alongside members; Counselor Abdel Rahman Safwat, Counselor Ahmed Abdel Hakim and Secretary General Ahmed Sobhy.

Abu Sahib joined Islamic State in Syria where he received lots of military exercises and got involved in lots of operations from April 2013 to May 2015, according to Supreme State Security Prosecution.
