He pointed out that the Palestinian people are enduring one of the largest and most horrific massacres in history over nearly a full year, while the world watches in silence, failing to take action to stop these atrocities.
Assoumi also criticized "the countries that continue to support these terrorist crimes targeting women, children, and the elderly."
This statement was made during his speech at the opening of the 11th Conference of the Association of Senates, Shoora and equivalent Councils in Africa and Arab World, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Assoumi added that the humanitarian tragedy spans decades of killing, destruction, siege, detention, and other inhumane terrorist practices carried out by the occupying force against a defenseless people fighting for their most basic rights, land, freedom, and dignity.
He emphasized that these crimes demonstrated that the current global system, which is based on double standards and international hypocrisy, is unfit to promote peace or halt the machinery of killing and destruction.
The AP head called on the conference to issue a unified Arab-African appeal to intensify efforts and put an end to the heinous crimes and brutal assaults faced by the Palestinian people by the racist and hateful occupation forces.
He stressed that the critical phase the global system is currently going through highlights the urgent need for collective cooperation among southern countries to form a strong and influential voice to defend their interests and the justice of their causes. "In a world driven by alliances, southern countries must assert their position in the global race."
Assoumi stressed that economic integration between Arab and African nations, by enhancing opportunities for integration and development, serves as the strongest foundation for partnership between the two sides.
