CAIRO – 16 June 2024: The Ministry of Health and Population announced Sunday that the Egyptian healthcare mission to pilgrimage had referred 1,110 Egyptian pilgrims to Saudi hospitals in Mecca and Medinah.

The great majority were discharged after receiving the necessary medical service, and only 23 had to be admitted to those hospitals. The ministry highlighted that the total number of Egyptian pilgrims this year is 17,871.

The Egyptian president himself headed Thursday to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage, and expressed in a statement Saturday appreciation for the Saudi authorities for the outstanding organization of the ritual. He also wished Muslims worldwide a happy Eid Al Adha.
