CAIRO - 27 May 2024: Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez said Monday during a joint press conference with his Norwegian and Irish counterparts: "Tomorrow we will officially announce with Norway and Ireland the recognition of the Palestinian state, continuing: “An immediate ceasefire must be implemented in Gaza and humanitarian aid must be delivered.”
For his part, the Norwegian Foreign Minister said that the recognition of the Palestinian state is part of a path aimed at reaching a peace process in the Middle East.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister added: "We continue to provide the necessary support to Palestine and stress the necessity of recognizing the Palestinian state."
The Irish Foreign Minister pointed out that the attack on the Palestinian refugee camp in Rafah is a violation of the decision of the International Court of Justice, adding: “We are taking concrete steps to implement the two-state solution and achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian people for self-determination.”
