CAIRO - 29 February 2024: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said that Egypt is expected to witness a rise in temperatures in all parts of the country, as the country is affected by the presence of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

EMA added that on Thursday, it is expected that hot weather will prevail during the day in the north of the country up to Greater Cairo and North Upper Egypt, hot in South Upper Egypt, and cold at night in most parts of the country, and winds stirring sand and dust will also be active in the far west of the country.

The Meteorological Authority indicated that the peak temperature rise is expected to on Friday, as the country is affected by desert air masses that work to raise temperatures and wind activity, which works to stir up sand and dust on various areas of the northwestern coasts, the Western Desert, and northern Upper Egypt and areas of Greater Cairo, noting that this rise is followed by a drop in temperatures.
