CAIRO – 18 December 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Monday a phone call from French Envoy to Lebanon Jean-Yves Le Drian to discuss the efforts deployed by the five-nation group on Lebanon with regard to dealing with the various crises endured by the country.
The group, consisting of the United States, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt, is attempting to achieve stability nationwide in Lebanon. In that framework, the foreign minister noted that the political elite in Lebanon should fulfill its duties in light of the massive challenges encountered by the country.
On his side, Le Drian expressed eagerness for coordination with Egypt on the Lebanese crisis, and aspiration to visit Cairo soon with the aim of conferring over the different aspects of the situation.
