CAIRO – 5 December 2023: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs answered Monday reporters' answers on the measures carried out to evacuate Egyptian nationals from Gaza Strip.
The press statement pointed out that the consulate in the West Bank's Ramallah receive requests from those who wish to return to the homeland and coordinate with officials on both sides of Rafah Border Crossing to facilitate the process.
With regard to Egypt's help on evacuation, 8,691 foreigners and Palestinian dual nationals transited in Egypt before their departure to their homelands. On the other hand, 421 Palestinians stuck in Egypt returned to Gaza.
Also, Egypt received 566 injured Palestinians, along with 300 companions, so they would receive treatment at local hospitals. Those are mostly children, and include 28 premature children. Moreover, 1,256 Palestinian-Egyptian nationals left Gaza to Egypt.
