JEDDAH - 20 July 2017: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an emergency meeting Monday in Jeddah to discuss the latest developments in Haram Al Sharif Compound.

In a statement, of which MENA obtained a copy, the OIC General Secretariat said the meeting will probe the recent Israeli security measures in Haram Al Sharif Compound, including the closure of Al Aqsa Mosque and installing metal detectors and cameras.

In a related context, the activities of an international conference on Al Quds kicked off in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on July 20.

The conference, organized in cooperation with the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, will discuss the developments at Al Quds city especially the serious aggression against Al Aqsa Mosque, the attacks and violations aimed at judaizing Al Quds city, altering its historical characteristics and its Arab, Islamic and Christian features and changing its demographic structure, in addition to attempts to isolate Al Quds AL Sharif from its Palestinian surroundings.

The event will see the participation of a group of Palestinian and international thinkers, politicians and experts.
