Arab League provides $400K-worth of aid to Gaza

CAIRO – 23 November 2023: An aid caravan provided by the Arab League's Council of Social Affairs Ministers was launched towards Gaza Strip Tuesday, and it includes food, water, personal care products, medicines, mattresses, and blankets.

 

The caravan is worth $400,000, and it is among 8,300 tons of aid provided by different international organizations. Egypt and other countries also provided 11,500 tons and 3,200 tons, respectively.  

 

The jets that carried aid for Egypt to do the delivery amounted to 131. As for the number of aid trucks that had entered the Strip, it hit 1,090. After much pressure on the Israeli side, 15 fuel trucks entered Gaza Strip on November 17-22 through Rafah Border Crossing.

 

The Israeli shelling of Gaza Strip incurred the destruction of 45 percent of residential units. Hence, 41,000 units turned into ruins, while 222,000 others sustained damages. Regarding educational establishments, 279 were affected (51 percent).

 

Moreover, 11,300 were killed, including 4,650 children and 3,145 women. Children and women also represented 70 percent of injuries that recorded 29,000.
