CAIRO – 15 November 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Tuesday a phone call from his Japanese counterpart Yoko Kamikawa, who presented an overview of the discussions that took place in the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Gaza last week.

Minister Kamikawa also displayed the stance of Japan on the crisis. In that context, Minister Shokry underscored that international parties must fulfill their humanitarian and legal duties with regard to halting Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians and adopting firm stances on the serious Israeli violations of human rights.

The Egyptian minister noted that the bloodshed must stop, especially that over 70 percent of the victims are women and children. He also reiterated Egypt's rejection to all forms and attempts of Gazans' displacement whether internally or externally, and the salience of the entry of sufficient quantities of humanitarian aid.

In that framework, the Japanese minister thanked Egypt for its role in containing the repercussions of the crisis, delivering humanitarian aid to the Strip, and evacuating dual nationals.
